Meet the Web Design Hero: Eric Goldman
Greetings, and thank you for visiting my website.
I strongly believe in the benefits of establishing strong relationships with all of my customers. I want to understand your goals and objectives so I can cater my service offerings to meet your individual needs. Part of building a relationship and a true partnership is knowing who I am as well. I would like to take this opportunity to tell you about my background and experiences, and why I am your web design hero.

I am a web developer and security consultant currently living in Evanston, IL - just north of Chicago. I spend a large percentage of my time writing code and designing interfaces, but what I really like to do is to work directly with people to solve their problems. I am an experienced programmer as well as technology instructor and technical support consultant. If you would like to know my entire story, continue reading below. At the bottom of this page I provide some links where you can learn more about me and see my work elsewhere on the Internet. |
I have been working on computers since I was three, literally, back in the archaic days when we still used DOS and had to type in every command. It was at this early age that I developed my curiosity to tinker around and to understand exactly how computer software and hardware works. As a child and early teen, I taught myself how to write programs and make web pages. As I matured, I began to provide computer tech-support and tutoring services in my hometown of East Brunswick, NJ. My clients originally included family friends, but quickly expanded through word of mouth. I soon found myself teaching individual sessions with people of all ages, with a large portion of my customers being senior citizens. In addition to tutoring, I helped set up networking and provided tech support to some local businesses. In addition to troubleshooting and teaching, I worked on some web design projects for friends and small businesses. I even created an early local business directory for my hometown (the site is no longer active, but you can read a newspaper article about me here).
To further my education I attended the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), a four-year university located in Rochester, New York. RIT offered the most innovative programs in computing and informatics, and continues to be a leader in information technology and security education. My program of study was Applied Networking and System Administration, where I focused on maintaining system with a heavy emphasis on security. This program provided great exposure to a vast amount of technology and is recognized by the Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency. During my undergraduate education, I also did work-study internships (also known as co-ops) at Xerox and The Motley Fool. After completing my undergraduate studies and graduating with highest honors, I decided to continue my education at RIT in to earn a Master of Science in Networking and System Administration. I was awarded a full academic scholarship as a graduate assistant. I conducted interested research and also provided tutoring and teaching assistance as part of my responsibilities. This exposure gave me great exposure and experience teaching and tutoring more advanced computer science and networking techniques at a collegiate level.
In addition to my educational background in networking and security, I have continued to develop my programming and web development abilities. I have produced many programs and worked on various software projects. The most interesting of which are my extension developed for the Joomla! Content Management System. If you are interested in seeing some of my previous commercial applications, please click here to visit the Web Design Hero Store. In addition to commercial applications, I have worked to develop many interesting concept websites and websites for small businesses. I especially enjoy working with small businesses because they provide the ability to connect on a personal level, and its truly rewarding for me to help the little guy see his dreams come true.
